With a library of around 700 exercises, SmartGym designs the perfect workout for your goals—and adapts to your needs as you progress. It not only calls out each rep as you work out but also highlights the muscle groups you should be engaging. Here are five ways to get the most out of the app.

1. Optimize your training
Smart Trainer learns from you and adapts over time: adjusting reps, recommending longer recovery times, and introducing new exercises as you go. You can even create a workout by describing it (for example, “four workouts a week, two upper body and two lower body”). Every exercise that Smart Trainer suggests is accompanied by an explanation of its benefit, so you understand the why behind the what. To find Smart Trainer, head to the app’s More tab and scroll down.
2. Work out with Apple Watch
SmartGym’s widgets have gotten smarter. With Smart Stack, your workout widget automatically appears right when you need it (like before your usual training time). Add a button to Control Center on Apple Watch to launch (and pause) a workout instantly—no iPhone required!

3. Track your progress
The Muscle Recovery tool in History highlights the muscle groups you’ve been strengthening and estimates their recovery, updating throughout the day. You’ll also get insightful AI-powered workout summaries.

4. Get inspired with widgets
Add SmartGym’s widget to your Home Screen to see motivational quotes, view all your workout charts in one place, and have one-tap access to your next workout. The app’s Lock Screen widget lets you check key data without having to unlock your device. And once you start training, SmartGym’s Live Activity keeps your entire workout in view and automatically advances to the next exercise—no need to reopen the app.
5. Train with friends
SharePlay makes it easy to dive into a SmartGym workout with friends, no matter where they are. When you’re in any routine in the app, tap the More button on the top right, then tap SharePlay to start a session. You’ll both be able to see your SmartGym screen—and each other.
