The app launched on iPhone in 2019 with a focus on tennis, but it expanded to include pickleball in 2023. It uses AI and the camera on your iPhone to capture and analyze your time on the court.
Ready to play? Here are five ways to elevate your game with SwingVision.
1. Set up your shot
You don’t need special equipment to record a serve. Just point your iPhone at the court, and tap Start in the app. SwingVision will help you frame the shot to get the most accurate analysis. You can also record using a friend’s iPhone or iPad—a quick scan of a QR code makes connecting your devices seamless. (Just tap the button under Remote Control.)
2. Make a highlight reel
Tap the Filter button to see the video clips of your game, rally by rally or shot by shot. Or dig deeper: You can replay just your forehand or backhand shots, longest rallies, shots you put some spin on, and more. To send a friend a link to a video, tap Share.
3. See your stats
SwingVision is all about stats. A heat map shows where on the court you took each shot as well as where the ball landed. The elegant shot-distribution chart breaks down the percentage of forehand and backhand volleys. Ball Tracer illustrates the ball’s trajectory when you play clips or export them. You can also browse footage from other SwingVision users to learn from their mistakes and wins.
4. Keep score as you play
As you’re recording your game live, use SwingVision on Apple Watch (or another iPhone or iPad) to automatically keep score or challenge any line calls. Particularly proud of a point? You have a few seconds after every point to bookmark it from your watch to review later in your highlight reel.
5. Analyze existing footage
SwingVision can also analyze videos you’ve recorded without the app. Tap the settings button from the Record screen to import footage. For best results, SwingVision recommends video captured at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second from behind the baseline.
